Having earlier been a Macleay resident, South West Rocks and its beautiful beaches and scenery were a logical choice for this series of paintings.
The series reflects a Contemporary Landscape style of painting.
In using this approach, Mal’s aim was to closely reflect the actual landscape features of each scene, but then apply varying degrees of artistic perspective to produce a fresher, more modern result than might have been achieved using a more traditional style.
