I have been a resident of the mid-north coast for more than thirty years now and a photographic artist for twenty of those years. Much of my inspiration comes from the natural world around us and I try to see and to record the moments of beauty and realisation within the ephemerality of nature.
The flip side is – I love a great ruin! The decay over time of buildings, bridges, jetties to name a few examples. This ties in nicely with the natural world, as nature will not be denied, and all things must change and eventually pass.
I work in both digital and analogue and have my own darkroom where I create black & white photographs. In more recent years I have taken to creating Lith prints, as the unpredictability of this process matches the type of imagery I am trying to render in my craft.
