Fred Bullen has won awards for his works in local area exhibitions and many are currently displayed in galleries in Forster, Taree and Port Macquarie.
His most recent works have been described as having been executed “by an artist who has developed his own style based on an intuitive execution. The suburban landscape is rendered with an almost photographic naturalism; but the use of bright colours, ambiguous and distorted perspectives, and strange juxtapositions suggest an imagined or dreamed reality”.
His inspiration comes from the local area and the urban landscape which are then reproduced in traditional or one of many styles such as ‘abstract realism’.
Pam's art journey began as a primary teacher in London having trained in art and design and where she worked mainly with fabrics and collage. After emigrating to Australia she studied further, broadening her art practice, developing her acrylic and oil painting skills and lots of drawing. She kept her hand in with local arts groups while raising a family and teaching.
In retirement she has joined the Forster Art Society and enjoyed lessons in different techniques, mediums and styles. She now favours watercolour or acrylic mediums using abstract realism and creative techniques. She focus's her compositions on her love of the Australian bushland, rural settings around the Great Lakes and people and animal portraits.
