The artworks in this exhibition are inspired by my lifelong commitment to skateboarding, surfing and painting. These pursuits have been a constant in my life and still continue to be. Inspiration from surfing, skateboarding and airbrush painting has led me to the investigation of landscapes that drive these pursuits.
I am continually intrigued by the connections between skateboarding and surfing, how one influences the other and how both are made up of brief fleeting moments that stand still in memory. Reflected in the compositions of my works is a combination of memory and onsite observations whilst surfing and skateboarding; resulting in nostalgic reimagining of the landscapes with the saturation of colour and details.
The works are inspired by glowing morning waves and high quality skate parks dotted along the NSW mid north coast.
